Being A Mentor

by Patrick Liew on June 15, 2011

By helping others achieve more in their lives, you can achieve more in your life.

I passed by a place that brought back wonderful memories – the coffee shop at the corner of Penang and Aliwal streets.

There was a time in my life when I would go there and coach whoever that wanted to learn from me. Mostly, we would brainstorm ideas and learn from each other.

Interestingly, from the series of informal discussions, we helped to develop many prominent entrepreneurs. Many have become so much more successful than me.

I’m happy for them and thankful that I played a part in their lives. It gave me more satisfaction than cutting million-dollar deals.

I may not be a professional speaker, trainer or coach. However I believe every single person, including me should do our part to mentor others – including our children, colleagues and friends.

If for nothing else, the more I teach, the more I will learn myself. The more I inspire others, the more inspired I will become.

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

Life is FUNtastic!

Question: How can we do our part to train coach, mentor and help others improve themselves?
