Having Fun

by Patrick Liew on June 15, 2011

I had a date with one of the most beautiful ladies, my youngest daughter – who still refuse to be my fb friend.

Why is she charming? My genes, obviously. Ha!

As usual, we trade stories and had many good laughs. There was one story that I’ve told her before – and it was still funny.

Some years ago, I went to Silicon Valley, the ‘Mecca’ of techies. I was there to demonstrate the ‘next killer app’ – at least that’s what my partner and I believed our new product would become.

I was standing in front of two young nerds and staring at their company’s keyboard. It was connected to the room’s LCD projector.

I have been staring at it for a long time.

Meanwhile, the ‘kiddos’ were watching me intensely. After hearing my hard sell, they must have expected a high tech firework.

I tried to look intelligent, and as if I was doing some deep mental analysis. I am an expert at appearing smart.

Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore.

I blurted softly and in an embarrassing tone, “Err, where is the ‘Return’ key? I don’t seem to be able to find it on your keyboard.”

My girl and I would always have a good laugh over this incident.

It’s good to have fun in the family. And in whatever I do – whether I am alone or with my team.

If you ever see me laughing loudly when I am all by myself – now you know, you don’t need to call the mental hospital.

People who have fun tends to stay together.

Please don’t stop having fun and please have lots of it.

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

Life is FUNtastic!
