Living A FUNtastic Life (Part 18)

by Patrick Liew on August 23, 2011

As I was writing on how to stop worrying, I worried that it may not help you to live a worry-free life.

That, my friend, is an example of how I worry for nothing over many things in our life.

The question I need to ask myself is, “How does worrying help in this situation?”

Instead of thinking about what I should be worried about, I should replace it with, “How can I find better solution and turn the situation to my favour?”

Here are additional lessons I have learned over the last 200 years of my life.

1.       Commitment

I have to decide that worrying is not only a waste of time, it is also bad for my health.

I must decide that I will always say, “I am living a worry-free life.”

2.       Conditioning

I will replace all negative self-talk with positive ones.

I will confront any negative insults and replace it with positive inputs. If I cannot generate them on my own, I will borrow them from wise people. Their words can be found on the internet, books, CD, and other forms of publications.

3.       Affirmations

Using the metaphor of a CD, I can erase the recording on the CD of my mind.

However, negativity abhors a mental vacuum. It will enter my mind again.

I can write over it by memorizing positive affirmations and keep repeating them to myself – e.g. Our Creator wants me to be a winner in life.

I will do it until it becomes an integral part of my life.

4.       Communication

I will avoid any forms of communication that will trigger negativism I my life. I will not allow any pessimistic inputs to ever creep into my mind.

By engaging in positive and constructive communication, I can eliminate worries from my mind. I can focus my thoughts on generating positive values, solution, and results.

5.       Relationships

I am very much the result of the people I mix around with. Therefore, I must choose my friends carefully.

By interacting with giants in life, I can rise up to their level. Or, like they say, I can stand on their shoulder and look clearer and further into the future.

6.       Practice

The way to develop habit is to practice it and perform the positive thoughts and actions on a regular basis.

I will ask our Creator to help me.

I will fill my mind with positive thoughts so that there are no rooms for worries. I will free up my mind and heart with exciting goals and dreams of a better life.

7.       Habit

Worrying is a mental habit. If I can develop this habit, I can also stop the habit.

In addition, I can develop positive habits to replace it.

I can develop the habits of being happy, optimistic, and filled with hope.

8.       Mentorship

I discovered that when I share with people how to overcome worries in their lives, it helps me to manage it more effectively in my life. The more I teach, the more I learn, and the better I become in living a worry-free life.

9.       Higher Power

Instead of using my limited power, I tap a Higher Power to help me remove worries from my life. I tell myself,

“If our Creator is on my side, who can go against me.

If our Creator wants me to be a winner, I only have to work with Him.

He will help me overcome all challenges to achieve success.”

I am not created to worry about life. I do not have to suffer from worries.

I can choose to eliminate it from my life. I can replace it and seek the path of happiness.

Go4It!

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.
