Creating Wealth Part 7 – Choosing Your Vehicle in Life

Life is a pilgrimage.

Where I came from, where I am, and where I will be going to are equally important.

How I see the past can be a stepping stone or a stumbling block to the present.

 The present should be valued – it can cause me to speed up or slow down to reach the desired future.

My desired future will either make or break me. It can either help me  make the most out of my life or a mess of it.

A long time ago, I realized I would be travelling on the pilgrimage of life in four key vehicles.

Vehicle #1. I used to love Vehicle #1 and never had quite enough of it. I would show it off to the others and I searched in vain to make me feel good about it.

It frequently caused me to detour from the main road. Every now and then, I would get into an accident and it took me awhile to understand why.

Vehicle #2. Other than sleeping, I spent the most time with Vehicle #2. Unfortunately, I would always while away those times.

I wished I was somewhere else or doing something better. I was in the vehicle but living outside – throwing my life to the winds.

Although this Vehicle could take me farther in my life – I never used it properly. As a result, I clocked a lower mileage on the odometer of life.

Vehicle #3. The vehicle that was always there for me was Vehicle #3. Somehow, I have never spent enough time with it.

When the weather was stormy and the road, bumpy – it was this Vehicle that would faithfully carry me through the extra mile. However, instead of giving it proper shelter, I left it quite often in the rain.

Whenever it was left to waste – unconsciously, my life was wasting away too.

Vehicle #4. I should have taken better care of Vehicle #4. It has not only been with me throughout my life, it could take me farther and faster on my journey.

Sadly, I have left it alone on many parts of the journey – and it left me behind in life.

Vehicle #1 is what I term the 5P’s in life – Position, Power, Possessions, Pleasure and Prestige.

In the past, I measured my life by what I have rather than what I gave – the quantity of possessions rather than the quality of contributions.

I discovered that what I tried to master could master me. The 5P’s could take control of my life.

When I pursue it wrongly, instead of having a sustainable state of happiness, it left me with a miserable stench of emptiness.

It is only valuable if it can be used to create positive values. The world and people around me should be better for it.

Vehicle #2 is my career.

Although I spent the most part of my adult life at work, I did not fully understand its true meaning and significance. I failed to realize how much good it can do to me and to the people around me.

I could have learned more, achieved more, and contributed more in this major area of my life – but I didn’t. Unconsciously, I put a limit to what I could do with my life.

Vehicle #3 is my family and friends.

I could count on them the most. They oftentimes had to struggle with me through the narrow and winding path of life.

In the darkest hours of my life, they were there for me and stayed the course with me. Yet, I did not treasure them and do enough for them.

Vehicle #4 should be the most important part of my life – my soul.

I can have everything in the world but if I lose my soul, I lose everything.

If I value and allow our Creator to direct it, I can enjoy the best pilgrimage. I can make something great out of my life and the world around me.

Please value the Vehicles correctly. Each one of them has a proper place in your life.

I wish you a soulful pilgrimage. May you have a safe trip.

Please make a masterpiece out of the tunes in your soul. You can produce a great symphony with your life.

Money                         Money is the instrument to facilitate transaction of products and services. It is a measurement of the results of a Wealth Plan

Wealth Plan                 An effective and an ever-improving blueprint to create wealth

Discipleship                 The process of learning and improving every area of my life, including my knowledge, attitude, skills and habits so as to achieve the highest level of results.
