Focusing In Life

by Patrick Liew on June 15, 2011

What you sow in your mind, you will reap in your life.

I had lunch with two young and talented persons at an Italian-Indian fusion restaurant. Over lunch, one of them shared about his involvements with a few businesses.

As we are friends, I took the liberty to advice him like all good Chinese ‘Uncles’ should. I asked him, “It is hard enough to do well in one business, how can you expect to do well in a few businesses?

“How can you divide your attention, time, money, energy and other resources and compete with companies that put absolute focus on their business?”

I have never seen any company that has started a few unrelated businesses from the beginning and has succeeded in any one of them.

In My HSR Bootcamp I, I learned, “What you focus – expands”

I have oftentimes failed to focus in life.

I am guilty again and again of not majoring on the majors. In the words of Steven Covey, I have not put the first things first.

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

Life is FUNtastic!

Question: How can we learn to focus on the important things in life?
