11. Happy Father’s Day (Sunday, June 17, 2018) – Story #11: “Fathers, You Are Important!”

Research shows that fathers contribute to developing healthy families and children.

They are models for their children’s cognitive, emotional and social developments.

Help their children become more anchored and contribute to a greater sense of self-esteem, well-being, and authenticity.

And contribute to improving their children’s intellectual and linguistic intelligences and academic results.

The way fathers engage and interact with their children can also have a major bearing on how their children build their relationships with friends, colleagues, spouses, and loved ones.

Boys have a tendency to pattern after their fathers, especially in modeling the values and traits that have contributed to positive outcomes and impacts.

When fathers demonstrate these values and traits, their daughters will have a tendency to manifest these qualities.

They will also look for these qualities in their future partners because they have enjoyed and benefitted from these qualities.

Just as importantly, studies show that positive qualities of fathers can prevent their children from developing behavioural problems and being involved in substance abuse.

These children are less inclined to participate in delinquent activities, including drug and alcohol abuses.

Fathers can shape and influence their children on who they are and who they’ll become in the future.

They can affect major areas of their children’s lives, literally from cradle to grave.
