Wrestling Federation of Singapore (WFS)

As President of the Wrestling Federation of Singapore (WFS), I’m attending CoachSG Conference 2018 with two of our coaches.

I have always shared with our athletes that if they train hard to be a good wrestler, they are also training themselves to become good leaders, accomplished achievers, and great entrepreneurs.

Why?

To be a good athlete, they need to have sound character, fortitude of mind, and good values, including the need to be humble, self-motivated and disciplined.

In addition, they need to work as a team to overcome failures, setbacks and disappointments.

As they press on to become champions, they need to have a winning spirit, and develop self-efficacy, discipline, determination, tenacity, resilience, loyalty, and perseverance to complete the game.

Keep improving on improving themselves.

And be totally focused on achieving their predetermined and worthwhile vision and goals.

All these factors can also contribute to their long term success in life, including their careers and all other endeavors.

That’s why we also run “Beat The Street” program to keep kids off the street and help them develop positive characters, values, life skills, and behaviors.

The WFS is a National Sports Association, an IPC-registered and non-profit organization.

It is recognised by Sport Singapore, a statutory board under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and the Singapore Government.

The WFS is also a member of the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC).
