Are You Concerned That Molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan Is Allowed To Roam Freely In The Public And Potentially Prey On Your Loved Ones?

The rationale for meting out a lighter sentence to molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan is questionable and sets a dangerous precedence for such cases in the future.

First, molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan had admitted that this was not his first crime.

He had committed “similar acts since he enrolled in NUS in 2016”.

How can the judge be so sure molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan will not repeat the criminal offence and commit worse crimes?

And potentially destroy innocent lives?

Second, the fact that molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan is “unable to recall the number of times he had committed such acts” goes to show that he has no sense of remorse.

He is able to sear the conscience and even erase the crimes from his memory.

Wouldn’t that make molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan a dangerous person to be allowed to move around in the public, including getting near to young and vulnerable girls?

Third, how did the judge come to a conclusion that touching the victim’s right thigh twice and “her buttocks over her shorts” to be a “minor intrusion”?

Has the judge conducted a study among women to determine that such an incident will not affect them mentally, emotionally and psychologically and affect their futures?

With due respect, will she allow such a “minor intrusion” to be inflicted upon her or her loved ones?

Fourth, the judge made a decision not to meet molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan and listen to his defence’s position.

How can she ascertain the character, values, and potential future of molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan and the truth about the case without studying all the evidence?

Fifth, the judge believed that molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan’s “academic results show he has the ‘potential to excel in life’”.

Hasn’t the judge heard about top students becoming criminals?

And that such personalities can commit more damaging crimes because of their intelligence?

Sixth, if molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan gets a lighter sentence because he had achieved better academic results, wouldn’t that be a breach of justice?

Has the judge contravened the legal principle that each independent being must be treated equally by the law?

Wouldn’t such a judgment set a dangerous precedence for other crimes?

Seventh, the judge should consider how such a crime can potentially damage and destroy innocent lives, including the lives of people who had suffered sexual offenses.

Giving molester Terence Siow Kai Yuan a “Get Out Of Jail Free Card” may cause more detrimental effects on these victims.

How can the judge, who represents society to help administer justice and maintain law and order, set such a precedent for our daughters to go through an unsettling, insecure and dangerous future?

How can anybody not sign the following appeal for our esteemed legal system to review the case?
