Crisis Relief Effort for Nepal Earthquake – Please Help!

by Patrick Liew on May 8, 2015

On April 25, 2015, a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal, one of the poorest countries in Asia.It is the worst earthquake for more than 80 years.More than 7700 people have died and 17,261 people are injured and the numbers are increasing.

After a seemingly endless series of aftershocks, an estimated 2.8 million people are living in the open and desperate for basic needs.

Many people are still missing.

The city’s main hospital is overcrowded with victims of the earthquake.

The earthquake has toppled homes, buildings and temples, including the historic Dharahara Tower.

More than 200,000 homes have been destroyed and another 190,000 badly damaged.

Tonight, as you lie in the comfort of your bed, thousands of children are crying. Many elderly persons are in pain.

Families are broken up and going through intense suffering.
