Health Is Life

by Patrick Liew on August 23, 2016

For about an hour, many people in Singapore were held in suspense and anxiety for our Prime Minister.

As we pray for him to have a full, smooth and speedy recovery to even better health, may this episode be a reminder to leaders as well as all of us that health is life.
To be fully alive is to be healthy.

Without good health, we cannot enjoy a productive life and an adequate level of fitness, vitality and energy to lead a meaningful life and contribute to others and the environment.

Good health is not just about physical health. It also includes emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental health.

Any of these dimensions can affect our overall well being, performance, and results.

As we face greater stresses and challenges in a fast-moving world, we need to be more proactive in looking after our health.

We need to manage stress levels and seek wise counsel and help when we become vulnerable to unhealthy challenges.

In the final analysis, the primary source of good health and also the primary cure for ill-health lies with ourselves.

Living a healthy life is one of the best gifts we can give to ourselves. The best time to start living a healthy life is now.

I pray for all of us to be able to function at the highest level of fitness, vitality and energy so as to live the most meaningful and productive lives.
