Lessons?
When there are conflicts and potential conflicts in bilateral relations, stay calm.
Be humble, friendly, and empathetic.
Take a helicopter and long term view.
Don’t trip over yourself for short term benefits and interests.
Know what you want and take the other party’s interests into consideration.
Think deeply about complaints, challenges, and criticisms. But don’t let them stand in the way of progress.
Work wisely and work hard behind closed doors.
Seek a win-win relationship.
Don’t sell short and compromise your position and pursuit unduly.
A small nation cannot bow or bend to power, wealth, and might.
Continue to pray and develop more effective visions, plans, talents, strategies and systems to deliver the best possible results.
