Life Lessons From Horses – Part 3: Live A Balanced Life To Live A Full Life.
I had the good fortune of riding on a few horses in different parts of the world.
The last time I did it was up in the mountain near San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina.
It was a scary but an exhilarating experience.
My family and I rode through a forest, up steep slopes, across streams, and on hilly and rocky tracks.
One thing that I learned is that the horse that I’m riding reflects my behavior because I am controlling it with a bridle.
Horses are generally stable-footed and balanced animals.
If I’m going to ride smoothly and reach my destination, I have to be stable and balanced too.
If not, I can lead the horse astray.
I can also stumble the horse and accidentally cause it to throw me out of the saddle.
It reminds me that when a person wants to learn Chinese Kung Fu, he has to learn how to “站马桩.”
In other words, he needs to learn how to stand like a horse; stable, balanced and secure.
If not, he can never be a good martial artist.
In the same way, to ride life effectively, you have to live your life in a stable and balanced way.
Every area of our life can affect other areas of your life.
How you perform in one area affects how well you perform in the other areas.
If one aspect of your life is not right, every other aspect of your life can go wrong.
As they say, you can only be as strong as the weakest link.
Unless you guard our weakness, you may fall prey to the vultures of life.
These are people who will take advantage of you for their own benefits.
If every area of your life is right, like a good horse, you can race better, faster and more smoothly through life.
When our life is balanced and well-managed, it will also be easier for you to be successful in your work and other endeavors.
