Living Moments (Part 19)

by Patrick Liew on April 20, 2012

Once again, we had another wonderful My HSR Family Congress. The theme this year was aptly crafted, Winning The Future Now.

In recent times, there was a convergence of forces that will change the landscape of our industry. The global economic uncertainty, newly-introduced laws, cooling measures, and the shifting of other tectonic plates will cause a sea change to our profession, market and business.

In my opening speech, I wanted to inspire My HSR Family members to rise up and face the challenges. I challenged them to capitalize on the opportunities that came with every major shift in the industry.

I told them, “When there are major changes, a new generation of achievers will arise. You can fast-track yourself to become one of the top producers”.

When we organized the Congress, we were mindful that every single person who joined our HSR Family came with their own stories, dreams, fears and aspirations. We don’t take these qualities lightly. We were committed to do whatever we could to help them stand out from the crowd and lead the field.

Throughout the Congress, we introduced new plans, strategies, tools and resources to help them achieve sustainable success. We created an electrifying atmosphere to inspire them to achieve quantum leaps in terms of learning and action.

We even invited two world-class experts to share cutting-edged ideas to help them to achieve the next level of growth. We have always believed that the quality of the outcomes of our action is determined by the quality of incoming information into our mind.

The first guru shared passionately about how Apple became one of the most successful companies and showed us ways to adopt its organizing principles to grow our business. The second guru was an awesome communicator. He taught us how we can improve our personal branding so as to dominate the market.

While all these information were important, there was a core message that I hoped to craft on the tablets of the participants’ hearts. My wish was that they will act on it while walking on the entrepreneurial journey with us.

I repeated the message in different ways during both my opening as well as my closing speech. It went like this, “The business of business is not just about business.

“We must do well and do good at the same time, all the times. We must seek to enhance not just the financial bottomline but also the social, environmental and spiritual bottomlines.

We owe it to ourselves and to our loved ones to fulfill the 4Ps. We need to improve our profits. At the same time, we need to value-add to people, protect the planet, and serve a higher purpose”.

Go4It!

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.
