Redesigning Orchard Road is more than just about the built environment, including the landscapes. It’s about reinventing the experience to bring back the right crowd, commerce and activities.

It includes transforming the experience into a celebration of joy, happiness, fun, thrill and other positive emotions. Catering to a wide spectrum of tastes, sights, sounds, aroma, and feelings.

Creating beautiful memories that’ll move hearts and spirits through innovative shows, parties, gatherings, and other events.

For example, we should expand and upgrade busking and other entertainments to heighten vibrancy, fun and excitement. Offer technology-driven thrills and in the process, showcase our high-tech capabilities.

These entertainments include artificial intelligence-driven toys that combine the best of robotic engineering, augmented and virtual reality, animation, Internet of things, drones-activated aerial videography and other services.

As a global city, we can display not only the beauty of our nation but also exhibit some of the wonders of the world to our people and foreigners.

If our major shopping belt and for matter, Singapore loses its attraction to foreigners as a place to live, work, study, shop and play, the bright light may fade out on us on the grand stage of the future.
