6. Happy Mother’s Day (Sunday, 13 May, 2018) – A Message From A Mother

Dear child,

When you were a baby, I gave my all to look after you.

When I am old, I hope you will spare some thoughts for me.

I did whatever I could with whatever I had to be with you and protect you.

I hope you will spend some of your time with me.

I was ever ready to meet your needs and ensure that you grow up properly.

I hope you will look after some of my needs, no matter how inconvenient they are.

I put up with your every squeal and squabble.

I hope you will put up with some of my grouses and grumblings.

I forgave you for your failures and foolishness.

I hope you will also forgive me for some of my fears and frailties.

I did not expect anything from you.

I hope you will not expect anything from me too.

I bore one of the worst possible pains to give you life and help you live well.

I hope you will help me live my remaining years with dignity and meaning.

I made a lot of sacrifices and went through a lot of challenges to raise you because I love you.

I hope you will help me live the rest of my life gracefully.

I live my life to give you a good life.

I hope your children will do the same for you too.

Happy Mother’s Day!

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.
