Tribute To Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

by Patrick Liew on June 11, 2012

All great organisations depend on great leaders and great teamwork. In this regard, I will forever be grateful to Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

While he may not be perfect, his contributions far surpassed the leaders of his time. The fact that he can lead a great team speaks volume of his vision and leadership competence.

In addition, he and his team turned a little red dot, co…mprising mainly of migrant stock, and with low fiscal reserves and little natural resources into one of the most developed and livable countries. It is a testament of their sacrifices for the country, foresight, execution abilities, and perseverance to achieve results.

That’s why Mr Lee is respected by many people all over the world, including leaders and politicians. Today, fellow Singaporeans can travel all over the world and know that Singapore is widely admired and modeled after. Leaders from many parts of the planet travel to Singapore to live, work, learn, and play, and to learn from the Singapore Way.

This is a legacy of Mr Lee that nobody can and should take away. None of our Singapore leaders from the past and present can command the same degree of respect and be sought after all over the world for his/her knowledge and views. Without him, we will not be what we are today.

I particularly respect him for developing an orderly and effective succession plan and for helping to induct a new generation of leaders that has led the country to another level of growth, transforming Singapore from a Garden City to eventually becoming a City Within A Garden.

No other country with similar limitations have been able to achieve the same level of growth and achievements.

We owe a debt of gratitude to this great man.

May the silent majority stand up n speak up against the negative views about him. May we voice out against the vulgarity against, disrespect for, and vicious attacks against the father of modern Singapore.

On behalf of my family and myself and from the bottom of my heart, i wish to thank Mr Lee for all that he has done for us. I wish him good health and a long happy life.
