Farewell Louis Cha
It’s a sad day for me and many others who grew up listening to stories written by the late Louis Cha and watching movies based on his stories.
His fictional heroes are always bigger than life and they can find ways into many hearts and minds.
I have to confess that while growing up, many a time I dreamed of becoming like those heroes.
Fighting villains and evil in society.
Restoring justice and then, disappearing into the mist surrounding a magical mountain.
While reflecting over some of the late Louis Cha’s “wuxia” novels, I can’t help thinking about how much you need to have heroes.
Admire their battles against challenging tides of life.
Be absorbed by the ways they defy overwhelming odds to claim victories.
Yes, heroes have flaws. They have failed.
They have fallen but never beaten.
And they eventually rose up to make history and leave a meaningful legacy for you.
Looking up to and modeling after heroes is one of the values of a successful individual, organization and country.
Heroes are reflections of your desires to turn a worthwhile dream into a reality, and that you can achieve far more than you can ever dream or imagine.
They inspire new visions and shape your characters, values and behaviors.
Promote a stronger drive for more heroic acts in your midst.
As you model after heroes, their accomplishments can fuel your motivation to achieve greater successes.
Therefore, find more heroes and learn from them.
When you stop having new and better heroes, the bedrock of your achievements may be shaken.
In sharing their stories again and again, you too can be inspired to rise up and claim your destiny in the world of heroism.
You stop having heroes not because you grow old. You start to grow old when you stop having heroes.
Go4It!
I hope this message will find a place in your heart.
By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.
