One Billion Rising, Singapore.

by Patrick Liew on January 30, 2013

I have decided to join a worldwide movement to end all violence and abuse against women. If I may also add, the time has come for all of us to also enhance their standing and ensure equal rights and opportunities for them.

For more details, please visit http://onebillionrising.org/ and watch this short movie, http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=gl2AO-7Vlzk&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dgl2AO-7Vlzk&gl=GB

Join us on Feb 13 night, 7.30-9 pm, Clarke Quay Central Fountain, for the One Billion Rising Singapore event!

Abuse against woman remains one of the social diseases in many places across the globe. Tragically, many of such an action, including rape, sexual harassment and physical violence remains outside of our radar screen and are not reported.

Every violence against woman erodes the fabric of society and causes the world to be a darker place for living. It undermines humanity and corrodes the soul of life.

Violation and oppression against woman cannot be a part of society. It should not exist in any company, community and country.

We must put an end to any abuse against any woman. It should not be excused in any way, form or manner.

We must not tolerate any tolerance for it. There must be a proper, prompt and appropriate response.

We are calling the world to rise up and speak with one voice. We do it  for the sake of mothers, sisters, daughters, and neighbours and friends.

We do it for the collective future of humanity.

The time for a positive change is right where we are and right NOW!

Please join me in this noble movement.
