Innovating For Success (Part 4)

by Patrick Liew on October 14, 2011

When I reflected on my life, I felt like I have lived under different skins and enjoyed a wide variety of lifestyles.

No, I am not schizophrenic. I am also not suffering from any mental disorder – at least, that’s what I think.  🙂

I have made many transformational changes in my lifetime. Many people have said I was mad to do many of the things I have done in my life.

If challenging norms, creating unfamiliar pathways, and breaking new horizons are outrageous – I’m definitely proud to be crazy.  🙂

A word of caution, I am mindful that I should not change just because I want a change. I change to exercise my emotional muscles and to achieve better results.

To do that, I have to create a ‘Research And Development Laboratory’ in my mind.

I need to keep asking myself, “What are the future problems I need to start solving today? What are the future opportunities I need to start capitalizing upon from today?”

To proactively seek innovative concepts, ideas and actions, I need to invest time, effort, and other resources to make it work.

I evaluate the feasibility of every project and test it out before implementing them in real life.

I will seek wise counsel from people, literature, and other sources of wisdom. In addition, I will solicit feedback from relevant constituencies through formal and informal discussions.

I play active roles in different communities to build on my repository of knowledge. I seek to attract new information and collaborate with others to ensure I’m constantly updated.

I want to live my life such that I’m always operationally-ready to live an innovative lifestyle.

Go4It!

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.

Question: How can we have a transformational mindset?
