It’s Time To Manage Your Stress Level – Story #8.

Over the years, I have applied a simple way to manage stress. I called it the FRAME Process.

Step 1: Free Yourself Emotionally

If you are stressed, do not make a decision or even engage in a conversation.

If you talk when you are angry, it may be your best speech… to kill an important relationship or a project.

Excuse yourself from the situation to cool down and compose yourself.

Step 2: Refocus On The Positives

Do not focus on the situation, especially if the stress eats into you emotionally.

If possible, focus on the positive aspects of the experience.

Or refocus your thoughts on other positive areas of your life.

For example, visualize going through a positive experience; such as a holiday, or a pleasant experience in the past.

Indulge in the imagination to invoke positive emotions.

This exercise can help you achieve a proper mental and emotional state to better manage stress.

Step 3: Activate Heart Intelligence

I learned about heart intelligence from the Institute Of Heartmath (www.heartmath.org), an organisation that conducts research on stress management.

When you are stressed, learn to calm down and achieve a proper emotional state of mind.

Listen to what your heart is telling you.

More importantly, be all ears for the still small voice of our Creator.

He will guide you to achieve an optimal solution.

Step 4: Meditate Over The Decision

Do not make any rash decision and put yourself in a worst situation.

Put aside time to pray and meditate over any decision and line of actions.

Put your thoughts in writing.
By doing that, it helps you to have better clarity and to analyse the issues more carefully.

Step 5: Evaluate The Outcomes

As Steven Covey say, “Start with the end in mind.”

It is important to consider the outcomes before taking any action.

This is to ensure that you will not do anything foolish that will cause regretful results.

If necessary, seek counsel from wise mentors and friends.

They may show you another perspective that you may not have considered.

I hope the FRAME Process will help you better manage your stress level.

Go4It!

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.
