Living A FUNtastic Life (Part 34)

by Patrick Liew on September 15, 2011

There is a wide body of knowledge on how the mind processes and interprets information through our senses.

We hold internal representations of these information. They can be broadly classified as visual, auditory, kinetic, gustatory, and olfactory.

My dominant senses can help me understand myself and enhance my knowledge and wisdom.

However, I do not want to overly focus on only one of the senses and fail to develop myself in a balanced way.

I want to use all my senses to improve and enjoy my FUNtastic life.

Even in performing mundane and routine tasks, I can apply all my senses to heighten my pleasure and enjoyment of life.

For example, I’m sitting on my kitchen table right now. I can feel every breath of fresh air invigorating my body.

I can feel a gentle breeze caressing me every now and then, even in the stillness of the night.

I can taste the sweetness of a cold mango, its juices wrapping around my tongue in momentary pleasure.

I feel alive, well, and absolutely wonderful.

There is magic in the air as I focus on the flow of the moment.

I am surrounded by beauty. They can mesmerize me through different senses and transport me to a different plane of fun and happiness.

Peaceful dew drops, gentle warmth of the morning sun, fragrant smell of flowers, happy clouds, savoury food, beautiful music…

I want to sharpen my senses.

I want to savour the magic of life through every part of my being.

My senses are my gateway to a FUNtastic life.

Question: How can we make full use of all our senses to enjoy our life?
