Living A FUNtastic Life (Part 38)

by Patrick Liew on September 23, 2011

There was one evening when I felt really down.

During such times, one of the things I like to do was to just talk to my kids. They have a way to improve my mood and make me happy.

That evening, I discovered a useful way to change my emotional state. It started when my eldest daughter asked me, “Papa, can you show me your testimonial file again?”

I have a special file where I keep a record of my achievements in life. I also have letters of commendation by people from different walks of life.

There are also educational certificates and a variety of documents that would invoke pride and joy when I go through them.

I spent some time going through each of the document with my daughter. I also shared with her how I was able to attain the achievements.

As I did so, I was reliving the pleasures of past achievements.

In the process of sharing with her, I found that my mood was improving. At the end of the sharing, I felt charged up with positive emotions.

I became a happier person.

I have decided to call it my FUNtastic file. If you want to live a richer life, start a similar file and build on its content.

Soon, you will have a powerful tool to refer to when your moods are down or when you want to take yourself to a higher emotional level.

Go4It!

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.

Question: How can we start, maintain, and grow our FUNtastic files?
