Living A FUNtastic Life (Part 50)

by Patrick Liew on December 4, 2011

I am a traveler through the passage of time.

The present is all that I have to make my life count. How I live it – moment by moment – will define my FUNtastic life.

Many people do not live through the moments. They merely exist. They float through time and then, look back to a wasted life.

My greatest fear is that when I look back on my life, I will be filled with regret and remorse.

That’s why, I want to value every moment of my life and live it to the fullest.

I want to live for a purpose that is bigger than what I am and what I want. I want to fulfill our Creator’s highest calling for me to make a positive difference to humanity.

I want to leverage on my strengths. It’s the only way to make the strongest contributions.

I want to be totally committed to the present – to engage it 100% and play at full tilt.

I want to live fully at every given moment and be mindful of the beauty and wonder around me. I want to savour the moment with all my senses and be totally immersed in it.

I want to achieve what psychologist Michel Csikszentmihalyi called ‘flow.’ This is a state whereby I become so absorbed in the activity that my self-consciousness virtually disappears and time literally stands still.

I am fully engaged in the present and perform at optimal level.

I am focused on enjoying the gift of life. Enjoyment of life begins with a commitment to experience it.

I must fully experience life to maximize the enjoyment. I need to plan for meaningful activities that can help me to enjoy life.

To prevent the cycle of enjoyment from going down, I will continue to improve on current activities and inject other activities to move up the enjoyment curve.

Purposeful living and emotional development will strengthen my contributions. They become resources that I can tap upon to build a brighter future.

A well-lived life is s result of a well-designed plan.

Go4It!
