Living Moments (Part 34) – Miracles In Life

by Patrick Liew on July 5, 2012

Miracles happened everyday in our life.

That’s the promise of our Creator and I have seen some of them in my life.

Unfortunately, I must have also missed many of them largely because of ignorance or apathy.

When I was invited to go on a mission trip to Kazakhstan from 28 June to 2 July 2012,  little did I know that the Authorities have generally stopped foreigners from sharing in faith-based meetings.

However, our Creator’s powerful Hand was working miraculously behind the scene. Nothing could stop Him from getting a visa for me to enter the country.

After the visa has been approved, I was told that the computer system crashed and it took them a few days to set it up again. If I had not submitted my application earlier, I would not have made it in time to get the visa.

I delayed my flight as I was involved in a project.

Thankfully, I was not on the earlier flight because there was a 12-hour delay for the connecting flight. The passengers had to spend all their time wondering around the Kuala Lumpur airport.

On the plane, I started to journal my reflection about the trip.

Like most reflections, I allowed my thoughts to take free flow. I never quite knew how I would end it.

I did not expect that the reflection would be the basis for an eleventh-hour talk. It was for a surprised invitation to do an after-dinner speech.

At the Almaty Airport, Mara picked me up. She drove me to a dinner that was organized specially for me and my colleagues.

Before the dinner started, I was told that I would be called upon to share a message after my stomach has been filled.

Fortunately, I was able to enjoy the food and the party because Our Creator has been helping me to prepare for it during the journey.

I felt His prompting to share my reflection on the plane with the group of leaders. It turned out to be what they needed for their lives.

At the same party, I somehow had an inkling that our Creator wanted me to pass a message to one of the ladies. It was a strange message and one that was so obvious that it would make me look foolish if I said it.

I have learned long ago that I should just relay such messages. I should leave it to the other parties to evaluate if it was appropriate for them.

I turned to the lady and said, “I sense that God wants me to tell you that He heard your prayer”. After saying it, I moved on to engage with another person.

On the next day, somebody told me that at that point in time, she was praying to  God. She wanted to know if He was listening to her and she needed an assurance from Him.

I do not believe I am more special than any other person. I believe that miracles happen to everybody and on a daily basis.

Our Creator has arranged miracles for you. Start looking out for them – from now.

Go4It!

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.
