The Worst Heart Disease Is Not To Have A Heart For People

January 11, 2010

On January 9, 2010, I had the priviledge of joining My HSR Elderly Outreach programme at My HSR Love Café. I spent time with a 92 year old lady who spoke to me in Cantonese and a 95 year old lady who shared with me about her life, half of which I cannot make out. I can only smile at her.

My heart was deeply moved when I watched our volunteers giving themselves to the good work. It was so touching to see the elderly participants laughing, having fun, and enjoying the food.

As we celebrate the first year in the new decade, I hope you will give thoughts and have compassion for the weak, the needy, and the disadvantaged.

Like you, I have many things in my life to be grateful and thankful for – a life, a family, a roof over my head, good friends, a career that gives me lots of good time… That’s why, I need to give back to the people around me.

I believe the best way to live my life is to live my life for others. As I reach out to bless other lives, I will be blessed.

I must always give a part of my time and earnings to a good cause. When I live my life for the good of others, I live the best life.

Therefore, it is a priviledge for me to give to and to touch other lives.

I hope you will commit yourself to a charity project if you have not already done so. Donate your time, talent and treasure (including money).

Don’t tell yourself, ‘I will do it someday.” Every action you take will make a positive difference.

No idea? Call Lau Hoong Yip, Manager of My HSR Corporate Social Mission @ 91596471 and he can show you the way. Remember, tonight as we sleep in the comfort of our beds, there will be millions who will cry themselves to sleep.

Many children will turn to their parents and say, “Papa / Mama, I am hungry. I am in pain. Please help me!”

Take actions now.
