Confirming Appointment

by Patrick Liew on July 8, 2011

A salesperson came to my office for an appointment.

I had agreed to the meeting because I mistakenly thought she was representing one of my current vendors. Instead, it was just a ‘cold call’ to promote her services which I did not need.

On reflection, both of us were guilty of not discussing in detail the objective and agenda for the meeting.

At the least, we could have done so when we confirmed the appointment subsequently.

We could have wasted each other’s time. Fortunately, we spent the time sharing and learning from one another.

I ended up having a friend.

To my new found friend, if you happened to be reading this reflection, thank you for your friendship.
