Keep Singapore Clean.

by Patrick Liew on November 11, 2013

Cleanliness should be a way of life. It should be practiced at home or in whatever places we love as well as in all other places.

I believe that if we don’t help to keep the place around us clean, it is unlikely we will be motivated to keep our  mind and spirit clean too. Is it any wonder why they say that cleanliness is next to godliness?

When we keep public places, including food and beverage outlets clean, the more appealing ambience will also  help us to enjoy our meals.

If leftover foods are not cleared, it will attract houseflies, birds, rodents and other animals. The unhygienic condition will cause more diseases and affect our health.

By doing our part, we can also help the hawkers improve their productivity  and keep running costs low. In that way, they are in a better position to pay a higher salary to their employees.

On a bigger scale, Let’s upkeep Singapore’s image as a clean and green nation because it can attract more tourists and investments. Our example can also inspire our children and others to do their part for the environment.

Mahatma Gandhi was quoted to have said, “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.”

I fully agree. I also believe I should never walk through a place and leave it dirtier than when I first step into it.

Living a cultured life includes how we clear up the litter in our life. The discipline of cleanliness will help us cultivate a better quality of life.

Cleanliness is definitely the way to go.
