My Whatsapp Message to our Team of Volunteers who are Organising the Tribute for You.

by Patrick Liew on March 28, 2015

Hi Gang,

“At the end of the day, what have I got? A successful Singapore. What have I given up? My life.” – Mr Lee Kuan Yew (1923-2015)

Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for all that you have sacrificed and achieved for the Tribute.

Words cannot express my appreciation for what you are doing to put together a meaningful and memorable experience for the participants.

What’s more, you are doing it without expecting any recognition and reward.

Salute!

Tonight we present the Tribute not for any human, not for any enterprise, and not for any organization.

We do it in honour of Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

We do it out of love for a man who gave his whole life for us.

We do it to mourn a great loss, not only for you and me but also for Singapore and the world at large.

We do it to celebrate his spirit of purpose, sacrifice, determination, and achievement.

We do it to help unite our fellow Singaporeans.

Together we can and should honor his legacy by carrying on the the good work that he has achieved for all of us.

He once said, “This is not a game of cards. This is your life and mine. I’ve spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I’m in charge, nobody is going to knock it down…”

Yes Sir!

We will make sure nobody is going to knock down our bright little red dot.

A heavy curtain has fallen. The candle light is gone.

The baton has been passed to us.

Mr Lee gave his life to us.

We are doing our small part to serve the participants.

Thank you once again.

Patrick Liew
